Police in Quebec City Asking for Public Help after Three Attempted Kidnappings of Young Women

Georges Hebert
Police in Longueuil, Quebec, are asking for public help after three attempted kidnappings of young women. The attempted kidnappings occurred mid to late May, with the first on May 17, and the two others on May 31. Police media liaison officer Ghyslain Vallières told the French-language TV station Radio-Canada that two of the young women are underage. Police have some limited information on the suspect, and are asking for help from the public to get more details. According to Vallières, the suspect is between the ages of 25-35, has brown eyes, has a height of between five feet nine inches and five feet 11 inches, and a weight of between 73 to 77 kilograms. The suspect drives a recent model of a silver Dodge Caravan. Vallières is confident that there are people with more information out there, particularly for the attempts that occured on May 31, although the witnesses may be unaware that what they saw was an attempted kidnapping. Anyone with information is asked to call 450-463-7211. Tips can be provided anonymously. Police will also make a presence in the community to ask people if they have any information that may be useful for the investigation.
