A series of wild brawls with security staff broke out on a South Pacific cruise on Feb. 16. 23 passengers were removed from the cruise. Video footage of the brawl was posted on social media, showing apparent heavy-handed tactics used by the cruise’s security staff. The cruise’s operator, Carnival Corp, has been in damage control since the incident. Carnival Corp announced on Feb. 19 that “all aspects including the security response” were being investigated. Some passengers on board said the security staff made matters worse. Others said the group was looking to cause a stir. The 10-day cruise to the South Pacific returned to the Australian southern city of Melbourne on Feb. 17. Australian police said inquiries were continuing with no charges laid yet. Carnival Corp did not say when the investigation will be concluded. It has offered passengers a 25 percent “cruise credit” on future trips. Credit: Reuters
