TARGET, WHICH IS SAID TO BE THE CONTROL VEHICLE FOR THE DRONE, BEING HIT BY AIR STRIKE STORY: The Israeli military released cockpit video on Saturday (February 10) showing the aerial targeting and destruction of a drone flying in what Israel said was Israeli airspace and an air strike on Iranian drone installation in Syria. Israel said it had sent its jets into Syria which struck at least 12 Iranian and Syrian targets, after shooting down an Iranian drone flying over Israeli territory earlier on Saturday. It added its F-16 warplane came under fire in Syria and had crashed in a field near the northern Israeli village of Harduf, television footage showed. Later, Syrian state media said air defences were responding to a new Israeli assault and had thwarted attacks on military positions in southern Syria. Taking down F-16 jets caused a major escalation of tension with Israel launching heavy air strike in Syria later on Saturday. Israel's air force has targeted Syrian military and Hezbollah targets in Syria on an almost regular basis, but its attacks on Saturday appeared to be the most intense yet.
