In Slovenia, eating steak tartare during the second half of December, has become a real tradition. And we eat it like crazy but strangely enough, that's not even the craziest part 🤔. What baffles me the most is the fact that we eat it JUST during the "end of the year holidays".

I guess that's mostly because back in the days a lot of people were poor and eating meat was kind of a luxury. But not only that. The animals were slaughtered during the winter, the meat was fresh, so there was less risk for any kind of a food poisoning.
.
But! Times change and thanks to that you can now enjoy a nice steak tartare any time of the year. And what's even better? You can make it on your own! 😏
