Police in East Lansdowne, Pennsylvania got an usual school-safety call on Tuesday, Feb. 20. The call reported a carnivorous dinosaur roaming near the East Lansdowne Elementary School. The beast was identified as a Tyrannosaurus Rex. However the prehistoric beast wasn’t eating students—it was helping a child cross the street safely. On its Facebook page the police department described the call: “Police were dispatched to Melrose Ave and Emerson Ave for reports of a dinosaur on the loose. On location we observed a T-Rex taking their kid to school. No problem. Clear.” The responding officer videotaped the unusual occurrence. The resulting video accumulated more than ten thousand views in its first few days online.
