Yesterday, share investors who collectively bought GameStop stocks to boost the share price had their trading restricted by a number of share-trading platforms. This has sparked heavy criticism for what is being called market interference. Some are saying this situation is showing American investors how Wall Street ‘really operates.’ Former President Trump met with House Minority leader, Kevin McCarthy to discuss “taking back the House” for the 2022 midterms. The two have a history of making positive gains together — picking up 15 seats in the House during the 2020 election. McCarthy stands opposed to the latest impeachment effort against Trump; Whereas Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyoming) is facing a bid to oust her from her role in the Republican Party for supporting Trump’s impeachment. In New York, Governor Cuomo’s hopes for re-election in 2022 are likely to be hampered by his economic shutdowns as well as underreporting of Nursing Home Deaths last year. Cuomo controversially ordered that COVID-19 patients be sent to nursing homes, when hospitals were full.
