Thank God the Firefighter Is Alright

This afternoon, a fire that completely destroyed the Mobil Gas Station and adjacent Burger King was discovered, injuring two firefighters in the process. There were flames coming out of the roof and numerous fire departments were still responding when I arrived, about 20 minutes after it was first reported. I was able to capture the scene when the building front collapsed onto a fireman by positioning myself close to the US-2 Highway entrance. The fireman was crushed beneath the falling front sign, which was still ablaze, as he was making his way back from the building. His fellow firefighters were exerting every effort to extricate him. A few minutes afterward, the audience applauds as he leaves what appeared to be much worse. He will be alright, according to the local news. This fire was fought by firefighters from numerous departments, some of which were from Wisconsin, until heavy equipment could be brought in to put it out.
