Wheat Harvest 2020 - The Huff Fire (Day 91)

FYI...this video is longer than any of my others.
Who would have ever guessed our day would end the way it did.
We watched the smoke get darker and thicker until, at last, the town of Jordan was evacuated due to fire headed in our direction.
We loaded what we felt was necessary to save and left the trailer house. At the last minute, Jim decided we also needed to move the combine and one truck out of its path.
We watched from the fairgrounds. Until it was safe to go back to the trailer house.
Never in our life have we experienced anything like this. To have witnessed the community of Jordan (and the surrounding communities) come together to fight the monster was incredible.
And they won.
In the words of a local wildland firefighter, “Skirted is being nice. Diverted with the awesome help of firefighters, tankers and God would be more like it.“
